On Sunday, August 27, 2023, Lending Hearts took its largest group ever, 101 members, to the Pittsburgh Pirates game for the annual Cancer Support Game.
Every year, Pirates Charities organizes an extremely memorable experience for our families, and this year's was another amazing one! Pirates All-Star Pitcher, David Bednar, and the Pirate Parrot offered a pre-game experience that included each child receiving a personalized jersey, an autographed David Bednar baseball and a special Q&A session.
Two of our Lending Hearts friends and their families were led out to the field for a pre-game on-field experience. Owen and his dad kicked off the festivities in yelling "Play Ball!" Aiden threw the opening pitch to his dad. It was truly a spectacular day!!
We are extremely grateful to the entire Pirates organization for their constant support and compassion.
