In 2017, the Lending Hearts Friend Award honoree was current Pittsburgh Steeler, Mr. James Conner. Please join us as we present the 2018 Lending Hearts Friend Award to our 2018 honorees, Mr. & Mrs. Tyler Kennedy.
Tyler and Brandi have a tremendous joy for being with children and have been tremendous advocates of Lending Hearts in the community. They personify the mission of lending their hearts to others. We are honored to present the 2018 Lending Hearts Friend Award to Tyler & Brandi Kennedy.
Our Lending Hearts Ambassador Award honoree will be Dr. Lanie Francis, MD. Dr. Francis is a hematologist and medical oncologist at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. As an advocate for healthy living, Dr. Francis practices wellness in her daily life. Dr. Francis is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. She is a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and Society of Integrative Oncology.
Dr. Francis is the winner of the Ladies Hospital Aid 2014 Innovation Award and the 2015 Leo Criep, MD Excellence in Patient Care Award.
Dr. Francis is the head of The Wellness and Integrative Oncology Program at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Her program has been a source of guidance and inspiration in the creation of the Lending Hearts integrative oncology program, UP Street, that is currently in operation in the oncology department at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
About Lending Hearts
We are celebrating over six years of providing emotional and social support to children and young adults with cancer and their families through unique activities and community outreach, we seek your partnership to celebrate these young cancer warriors and need for continued support and awareness.
Lending Hearts addresses the need for assisting pediatric cancer patients & families in surviving treatment. Programs & services promote wellness, community and emotional support both in treatment and beyond. The vision is to embrace the immediate, enhance the possibilities and enrich future survival emotionally, sharing and lending of one’s heart. Our newest initiative for surviving treatment is a complete pediatric oncology wellness program we call UP Street for holistic activities supporting mind, body and soul.
