LENDING HEARTS FAMILY MONTHLY ACTIVITIES
To have your family participate in any Lending Hearts free monthly family activities, please RSVP to email@example.com. Lending Hearts activities for families with a child or young adult who is in treatment or in remission from cancer. The monthly activities are for the entire family and free of charge. Our Lending Hearts youth currently range in age from 3 years old to 26 years old.
The First Friday of every month, Lending Hearts provides a full lunch to all families on the oncology floor at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. We hope everyone enjoys our First Friday Lunch!
Art Expression with Lending Hearts
This is a small group setting (the entire family is welcome to participate) that will take place the first Saturday of each month (except for January, July, August & September) from 10 AM-11:30 AM at Allegheny Health Network’s Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion. This bright, new building is minutes from the Warrendale exit off of I-79. Certified art therapist, Gabriela Schmulevich will lead each month’s projects. Gabriela is from Pittsburgh, attended Carnegie Mellon University and went to graduate school at George Washington University. While getting her masters, she interned at Washington DC’s Children’s Hospital where she worked in the oncology floor. Be sure to RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your space! Please note, Art Expression will take a break over the summer months and resume in October.
Lending Hearts Yoga
Lending Hearts will now offer yoga within the oncology inpatient unit at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC! From 4-4:30 PM on the first and third Thursdays of the month, patients, parents and staff are welcome to take part in this very special and unique program. Upcoming sessions include: July 27, August 31, September 7 & 21.
Join us for the 3rd annual Kites Take Flight for Childhood Cancer presented by Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Saturday, September 16 from 12-2PM at Montour High School. This event is a free, open to the public, family friendly event to raise awareness of childhood/young adult cancer. WPXI-TV's Cara Sapida will be back as our emcee, favorite Pittsburgh mascots, food trucks and music. Bring your kite or purchase a blank, white one for $5 and decorate it for the Creative Kite Competition, hands on fun at the Sanpology and Covestro tables and so much more.
